Foods producer Premium Brands Holdings has announced the CAD$227 M acquisition of four more companies, according to an online story on just-food.com
The four additions include Concord Premium Meats of Ontario, a maker of branded and customized protein solutions whose brands include MarcAngelo, Skoulakis and Central Park Deli, and The Meat Factory, also Ontario-based and the owner of the core cooked-meals brand Lou’s Barbeque.
Also added were B.C. meat snacks maker Country Prime Meats and Frandon Seafood, a fresh and frozen seafood distributor from Quebec.
All transactions are expected to close within a couple of weeks, except the Frandon purchase, which has yet to get approval from the Competition Bureau.
The acquisition is part of Premium Brands’ plan to become the leading specialty food company in North America.
The announcement was made in conjunction with Premium Brands’ 2017 earnings statement, in which it revealed record sales and operating profits for the year.
