Procter & Gamble plans to launch DS3, a new line of eight sustainability-oriented waterless and plastic-free home and personal care products. The new line has been some 10 years in the making and includes cleansing bars designed for face, body and hair.
Procter & Gamble says that a proprietary process eliminates water from the final product, while the DS3 packaging is recyclable and biodegradable. The formulators have avoided harsh chemicals in the product range, which also boasts more than 30 patents. The removal of water also removes 80 per cent of the weight and reduces required space by 70 per cent.
The product size format will be small, making them more convenient for travel, the company says. The reduced size and weight also should make it easier and cheaper for P&G to ship DS3 to retailers or consumers.
The tag line for DS3 is “DS3: Enlightened clean.” Full market launch is expected later in 2019, reports Global Cosmetic News.
