Quality Foods has announced the pandemic pay increase of $2 per hour will be permanent for its workers.

“The pandemic is raging on, there is a lot of anxiety and stress out there in the workplace, so we made the decision that now is the time to make it permanent,” says Noel Hayward, president of Quality Foods.

“I’ve never seen our people more pumped. It’s been good for the people, and they deserve it,” adds Hayward. “Probably the best thing we ever did.”

The pandemic pay was first introduced in March 2020 and was extended twice before this decision. Hayward says they’ve also received a lot of positive comments from their customers.

Quality Foods is based in Vancouver Island and has 13 store locations.
