This year the 24th annual Save-On-Foods Charity Golf Tournament, held on May 29 at the Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey, B.C., raised $613,831 in a single day for children’s hospitals across Western Canada. The amount raised set a new record for the event.

Save-On-Foods also presented $2.1 million to BC Children’s Hospital at the annual Miracle Weekend Telethon. The funds were raised over the course of the year by Save-On-Foods customers, team members and supplier and business partners.

Store-led initiatives included barbecues, hot dog sales and pie throwing. Initiatives from the corporate side included the Round Up for Kids campaign, where customers can round up their bill to the nearest dollar and donate the difference, as well as the Save-On-Foods Charity Golf Tournament.

Save-On-Foods has supported BC Children’s Hospital for more than 30 years and has donated more than $30 million to the hospital. The company, its supplier partners, team members and customers also donate $3 million to food banks across Western Canada each year.
