Skip the Dishes

SkipTheDishes has commited more than $15 million to support Canadians in need and local restaurants onn its network.

The delivery app is giving an estimated $10 million back to communities and restaurant partners. It is also launching a $1 million partnership with Food Banks of Canada.

At the start of the crisis, SkipTheDishes launched a 30-day support package for restaurants on its network that has since directed more than $5 million back to its partners across the country. It is now extending the support package, which includes a rebate of 25 per cent to help local and independent restaurant partners whose dining rooms remain closed. This initiative will give over $10 million back to restaurants through direct rebates and marketing support.

The partnership with Food Banks of Candaa starts with a $200,000 donation to match customers' kindness, with additional contributions to be made throughout the year.

Last August, Metro Ontario joined forces with the food delivery service.
