Sobeys of Collingwood, Ont. and Sobeys of Angus, Ont. are among 60 grocery stores in the province recognized this year for their innovative promotion of fresh Ontario food.
The Foodland Ontario Awards program is the province’s premier competition recognizing excellence in the display and promotion of Ontario foods. It is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in partnership with several industry organizations.
The Gold category—awarded to the Angus and Collingwood stores—is based on the number of non-produce items cross-merchandised with Ontario agricultural commodities, compatibility of the products, and appropriate signage.
