True North Real Estate Development (TNRED) says a first-of-its-kind epicurean grocery store will be one of the lead tenants at its forthcoming food hall in downtown Winnipeg, MB.
The $400 million, two-level site is part of an office tower at 242 Hargrave St. It will feature nine food concepts created by local chefs and restaurateurs, selected with the help of Beauleigh, a specialty retail consultancy.
On the first level, besides the Lake of the Woods Brewing Company, Hargrave St. Market will also feature an approximately 5,000 square foot space for Mottola Grocery, billed as the first epicurean grocery store of its kind in Winnipeg.
The brainchild of restaurateur Bobby Mottola and executive chef Jesse Friesen, who already manage local favourites Pizzeria Gusto and Merchant Kitchen, Mottola Grocery is a curated boutique grocery location that offers prepared foods, fresh produce, specialty cheeses, pantry staples and specialty snacks.
True North Square – Hargrave St. Market will open for business this fall. Mottola Grocery is expected to open later this year or early in 2020.
