Sungiven Foods, which opened its first grocery store in Canada in 2019 in Vancouver, B.C. is expanding with plans to open three new stores in the Greater Vancouver Area.
The chain currently operates three stores in the Greater Vancouver area. The stores will be located in Richmond, South Surrey and North Vancouver.
Originally launched in China, Sungiven Foods has grown rapidly over the past eight years expanding from a single store to more than 100 stores. Although Sungiven was founded in China, the company’s founder Kathy Su says the concept was inspired by the West Coast and was originally developed in Vancouver. Indeed, the growing chain has been called the “Trader Joe’s of Asian groceries.”
