Asian grocery brand Sungiven Foods is set to open the first of three new retail stores at the Vancouver City Square shopping centre.
The 13,000 sq. ft. store will feature specialty items and hot foods, daily fresh bakery items, seafood and meats. It will also feature Sungiven’s own range of health-conscious private brand products.
Sungiven Foods says it plans to open two more stores in the Greater Vancouver Area, one in Kitsilano and one in Burnaby. These stores will be 3,200 and 6,300 square feet respectively. Plans are also being developed to open as many as ten to 15 additional locations across the Lower Mainland in the future.
The Vancouver City Square store, which is Sungiven’s first international location, is set to open in November 2019.
Originally launched in China, Sungiven Foods has grown rapidly over the past eight years expanding from a single store to more than 100 stores. Although Sungiven was founded in China, the company’s founder Kathy Su says the concept was inspired by the West Coast, and was originally developed in Vancouver.
