Walmart Canada, which announced earlier this year that it planned to hire 10,000 people across the country, held its first drive-thru job fair at a Mississauga, Ont. store.
Nabeela Ixtabalan, executive vice president, chief people and corporate affairs officer for Walmart Canada, says that candidates came by transit and by car. Those that arrived by transit were interviewed in an outdoor tent, while people who drove, remained in their vehicles as Walmart conducted interviews.
Ixtabalan says the model allowed Walmart Canada to interview more than 200 people and the company says it is extending job offers to 82.
