Walmart Canada has joined Procter & Gamble Inc. to provide clean drinking water to the Children's Safe Drinking Water Fund. From May 23 to June 16 for every purchase of any P&G product from Walmart Canada in-store or online, P&G will donate the equivalent of one litre of clean drinking water.
P&G worldwide hopes to provide up to a total global donation of USD $1,000,000 during the 2019 calendar year.
"We are proud to partner with Walmart Canada on this initiative," said Rob Chambers, sales VP, P&G. "The program enables Canadians to get involved and help contribute to this important cause simply by purchasing any P&G product at Walmart during the campaign period."
To kick off the initiative, students from West Humber Collegiate Institute High School, led by its Social Justice Club, the Muslim Student Alliance and the Somali Heritage Month Committee took part in packing the kits that included P&G Purifier of Water sachets and hygiene items donated by P&G. Once assembled, the kits will be delivered by GlobalMedic to families affected by the current crisis in Somalia.
The Children's Safe Drinking Water Fund is a charitable fund managed by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
