Several grocery retailers have won the Retail Council of Canada's 2023 Excellence in Retailing Awards.
Among the 15 retail winners are Walmart, Empire Company Limited, Calgary Co-op and Giant Tiger.
Walmart won in the Health, Safety and Wellness category; Empire received the In-Store Experience and Design recognition; Calgary Co-op and Giant Tiger were presented with the Philanthropic Leadership awards.
This year, winners were selected from 88 finalists. The award recipients were recognized at the Retail Council of Canada's Excellence in Retailing Awards gala.
The outstanding innovations recognized this year reflect the retail industry's proactive response to current challenges. From prioritizing employee mental and physical well-being, to revolutionizing store design for enhanced customer experiences, embracing sustainable practices, reinforcing loss prevention measures, and actively engaging in philanthropic initiatives to support communities, these remarkable achievements have pushed the boundaries of retail excellence.
