Walmart Canada has announced the launch of the Walmart Grocery Pickup service in Windsor, Ontario. As of November 15 the service is available free of charge to residents of Windsor. They can now shop for groceries online on Walmart.ca/grocery or via the Walmart app, and then pick up the order in-store.
Orders are picked by Walmart associates, who load the order into the customer’s vehicle at a designated pickup parking spot. Orders can be placed and picked up on the same day.
Walmart's Grocery Pickup is currently available at select locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Walmart Canada says a new mobile check-in option for the Walmart app is being rolled in select markets across Canada, including Windsor. The new option lets customers notify the store that they are on their way to pick up their order. Thirty minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time, customers will receive a push notification prompting them to check in with a single tap. Store associates then receive a notification when the customer is 10 minutes away. Walmart Canada says this will ensure the customer's order is ready when they arrive at the designated pickup parking area.
