German discount grocery chain Aldi is expanding in the U.S., and its unique low price model is proving to be a serious challenge for Walmart. Aldi regularly undersells Walmart, to the point that U.S. shoppers are even willing to put up with some added inconveniences, reports CNN Business – and shoppers are responding enthusiastically. Aldi already has 1800 stores in 35 states and is aiming to have 2500 by the end of 2022.
