In the latest salvo in its ongoing war with Amazon, Walmart has announced free next-day delivery for orders of US$35 or more. The free delivery, rolled out initially in Phoenix, Ariz. and Las Vegas, Nev., will be rolled out to three quarters of the U.S. by the end of the year.
The move comes less than a month after Amazon announced it was spending US$800 million this quarter to get to one-day shipping for Prime members. Walmart didn’t disclose how much it was investing in its response.
