The winner of this year’s Cashmere Vote Couture for the Cure is Demascare. Shaun Mascarenha is the talent behind the Demascare label; his design received the highest number of votes from Canadians.
This year saw an impressive number of votes by Canadians, up 131 per cent from the previous year. Kruger Products, makers of Cashmere, has expressed thanks for promoting the importance of this event and helping to generate awareness among Canadians—for each vote cast, Cashmere donated $1, up to a maximum of $15,000, to the breast cancer cause at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (QBCF).
To celebrate this year’s winner, Kruger will make out the donation in Demascare’s name.
Kruger Products also donated twenty-five cents from the sale of every specially-marked pink package of Cashmere and Purex UltraLuxe Bathroom Tissue (up to a maximum of $65,000) throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Over the years the company has donated millions to the cause and helped showcase hundreds of Canadian designers to the world stage.
