Discount grocer has announced plans to extend its low-price model to clothing by launching a new line called “Hauler,” dedicated to savvy discount shoppers.

First available for online ordering are two T-shirt designs. These will soon be followed by a long-sleeved shirt and sweatshirt. Other items will be added later on, the company says.

No Frills says it never formally planned to launch a clothing line, but decided to respond to positive shopper response to branded merchandise such as boxers and scarves that was made available as part of previous marketing events.

The company also says it isn’t planning to make a profit on the clothes and merely hopes to break even.
