Where did you grow up? Saskatoon, Sask. What was your first job in the industry? I was a summer intern at Procter & Gamble in customer business development and I’ve been in the industry ever since! What inspires you every day? I’m accomplishment-oriented, so having challenges to solve invigorates me and encourages me to continue to push myself. I also draw inspiration from the passionate and talented colleagues I get to work with every day. Importance of networking? Early in my career, I joined the Calgary Food & Drug Executives and continue to be involved in different networks. I’ve built incredible relationships throughout my career. I get an immense amount of energy and insight from the connections I’ve built. Best advice you’ve received? Mindset and perspective are both important: you’re never as good as you think you are, and you’re never as bad as you think you are. How do you define success? Being intentional about the life you want. For me, success is about personal growth, enjoying what I do and who I spend time with. Favourite sports team? Saskatchewan Roughriders (obviously). Favourite snack and beverage? Miss Vickie’s and bubly. Favourite saying? “What’s the worst that could happen?” Hobbies? Golf, reading, traveling, staying active. Car or SUV? Car (however, this is currently a debate at home). Favourite business book? Brené Brown – Dare to Lead; Thomas G. Crane – The Heart of Coaching; Bill George – Discover Your Truth North, to name a few. Pet peeve? Negative attitudes. What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you? I took a wrong turn and drove my car onto the golf course at St. George’s Golf Club (it wasn’t funny at the time). What would people be surprised to learn about you? I think some people that don’t know me might think I’m very serious, but I also have a good sense of humour.
