Where did you grow up? Toronto, Ontario. Your first job in the biz? Dominion stores as a part-time produce clerk. People who have inspired you. My parents, who instilled in me sound values and a strong work ethic. The many people I have worked for who believed in me and took the time to mentor me. Best advice you’ve ever received? Always immerse yourself in the business. Balance the facts, your feelings, and your experience to inform your decisions. Bring your strategy to life through collaboration, teamwork, and flawless execution. How do you define success in five words or less? Always doing your best. Favourite sport and team? Basketball. The Toronto Raptors. Favourite vehicle? That’s a difficult question to answer, as there are so many great cars. My top pick is a classic air-cooled Porsche Speedster. Famous celebrities you have met? Paul McCartney. My wife and I met him and his band backstage prior to the 2005 concert in Toronto. He made us feel like he was genuinely happy to meet us; it is something we will not forget. Favourite vacation destination? Amalfi Coast in Italy. Favourite saying? What’s the worst thing that could happen? Hobbies? Travelling, cooking, exercising, staying active and spending time with my family. Favourite business book(s). James Collins, Good to Great; Simon Sinek, Start with Why; Malcolm Gladwell, The Tipping Point. Favourite TV show and/or movie. Seinfeld. One thing on your bucket list. Attend a Super Bowl game. Pet peeve? When people do not do their homework and do things because “that’s the way it’s always been done.” What would people be surprised to learn about you? I do not consider myself a foodie, but I enjoy trying new things, planning our day trip itinerary around the best food adventures, watching Food Network, and cooking on the weekends. I also have a big sweet tooth and always leave room for dessert.
