Who has inspired you? My mom and dad, who many years ago took a leap of faith and made the “big move” from Southern Italy to Canada when I was 10 years old. Coming to a country where they didn’t know the language but took a risk to benefit their children. Another thing that inspires me is having the opportunity to work with a talented team. How would you describe yourself? I am an authentic, trustworthy and driven individual who isn’t afraid to face a challenge. I’m passionate about my work, with a focus on finding solutions. Best advice you’ve ever received? My dad always instilled in me to do what’s right. He believed family and friends shaped your future and would often say, “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” How do you define success? Always doing your best. Favourite sport and team? Soccer: Italian National Team and Juventus Italian League. Favourite business book? Mindset, by Carol Dweck. A must read. Hobbies? I enjoy listening to all types of music. Celebrities you have met? Had a 20-minute conversation with Wayne Gretzky and Michael Barnett in my office when I worked with Imperial Oil. Things to do on your bucket list? Watch a World Cup soccer game live (Italian National Team), and drive across Europe. Pet peeve? Negative people. Favourite saying? Don’t allow your emotions to overpower your intelligence. Unusual thing that has happened to you? Had a beer with Noel Gallagher (Oasis) watching Manchester City soccer game. What would people be surprised to know about you? I play the drums and I played semi-pro soccer.
