Shelley Broader, a former president of CEO of Walmart Canada, was elected to serve on the Loblaw Companies Limited’s board of directors along with several other people.
Broader was named president and CEO of Walmart Canada in September 2011, following more than 20 years of leadership experience across the North American retail industry. She joined Walmart Canada as chief merchandising officer in 2010. Before joining Walmart’s Canadian division, she was a senior vice president with Sam’s Club in the U.S. Prior to her years at Walmart, she was president and COO of Michael’s. She began her career in the investment banking sector advising clients in the U.S. supermarket industry.
