This week Sarah Davis, president of Loblaw Companies Limited, announced leadership changes in memo that was obtained by Grocery Business.
According to the memo, “this re-shaped strategy is the product of significant thinking and intense work by teams companywide. The strategy is ambitious and exciting – and it will take us in a progressive new direction that requires new investments, efficiencies, focus and ways of work.”
These changes are effective as of January 1, 2018.
Michael Motz, previously president of Shoppers Drug Mart, becomes COO for the retail divisions of Loblaw Companies Ltd. Motz’s career includes experience with Miracle Food Mart and The Oshawa Group before he joined Shoppers Drug Mart in 2003.
Jeff Leger becomes president, Shoppers Drug Mart. Leger’s prior role was as executive vice president, pharmacy and healthcare at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Garry Senecal assumes the role of Chief Customer Officer with responsibility for Loblaw Brands, Marketing, Loyalty and Consumer Insights and Digital. Senecal was previously president of the Market Division.
Robert Weibe becomes chief administrative officer with responsibilities that include IT, supply chain, replenishment and space planning, and procurement. Weibe’s previous role was executive vice president supply chain and business process at Loblaw Companies Ltd.
