Jim Slomka, sales director at Clorox Canada, announced that he will be departing the company effective January 14, 2019. Speaking with Grocery Business, he remarks that, “not many former sports announcers change careers and spend almost 40 years in the grocery industry. I am proud to have represented Clorox over the past seven and half years as sales director, sales leadership team member and prior to this, as partner and senior vice president at Wm. Dunne & Associates.

“Over the years, I’ve have had many amazing experiences, represented well-known companies and brands, called on almost 100 different customers, met thousands of people, sold thousands of SKUs, attended many trade events, traveled the country and represented the industry at the highest levels. Clorox is a terrific company and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with great teams and tremendous leaders who have achieved excellent results over the years.

“I’m looking forward to pursuing new opportunities and possibilities in the industry and to attending my favourite trade events, including the Night to Nurture on February 2nd. I would like to thank all the people in the industry (on both sides of the desk) who have supported, motivated and inspired me during my career.”

It’s fair to say that Jim’s enthusiasm for the grocery industry is unrivalled and we’re happy to hear that he plans to remain involved. Anyone wishing to contact Jim to wish him well on his next chapter can reach him via LinkedIn or at [email protected]
