Robert Sawyer has joined Loblaw Companies Limited as chief operating officer and Richard Dufresne, currently president and chief financial officer for George Weston, expands his responsibilities to become chief financial officer for Loblaw.
The changes are part of an earlier announcement that will see Loblaw president Sarah Davis retire and be succeeded by Galen G. Weston, who returns to Loblaw Companies Limited as chairman and president.
Sawyer will be responsible for retail, supply chain and procurement divisions. He has over 40 years of experience as a Canadian retail executive, including the role of chief operating officer of Metro.
Dufresne will be responsible for capital discipline across the company. He has extensive experience as a chief financial officer.
