Metro has announced that Alain Champagne has been appointed president of the Jean Coutu Group.
Champagne replaces François J. Coutu, who will retire effective May 31. He has nearly 30 years of experience in major international companies and will be responsible for completing the combination of the Jean Coutu Group with Metro.
"I am delighted to join Metro to lead its pharmacy division," Champagne said. "I look forward to contributing to the division's growth trajectory by leveraging its strong brands, PJC and Brunet, its committed pharmacist owners and the best team in the industry."
François Coutu will remain a pharmacist owner in the Jean Coutu network, with three pharmacies under the Jean Coutu PJC banner.
