Rick Alcocer elected chair of CPMA board of directors
May 25, 2017 – The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) has announced its new board of directors, including a new chair: Rick Alcocer, senior vice-president, sales, for Duda Farm Fresh Foods Inc.
The following were also announced as executive committee members of the board: past chair Sam Silvestro of Sam Silvestro Consulting Company; 1st vice-chair Les Mallard of Chiquita Brands North America; 2nd vice-chair Oleen Smethurst of Costco Wholesale Canada; and executive committee member Davis Yung of Fresh Direct Produce Ltd.
“During my term, I plan to focus on CPMA’s three pillars: Connect, Advocate and Grow,” Alcocer said. “Within those pillars, I will work with the industry on three key areas of importance: food safety; open and free trade; and member growth and development.”
