Sperri, a plant-based home meal replacement beverage, won the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) Launch Pad competition, a Dragon’s Den-style event in which companies pitch their ideas for new products.
The judges, which included Grocery Business’ Mary Scianna, Metro’s Charles Buhagiar, Isabèle Chevalier of NAD Capital and Shelley King of Natural Products Canada, selected Sperri because it is a category disruptor and the only product of its kind in the Canadian market. It is the first Canadian-made plant-based meal replacement beverage that is organic, non-GMO, free of common allergens, easily digestible, and highly nutritious.
Sperri will take home the grand prize from premier media sponsor Grocery Business and CHFA, valued at $20,000.
