The produce industry in B.C. donated fresh fruits and vegetables to frontline workers in Vancouver to say “thanks” for their efforts during the pandemic.
The British Columbia Produce Marketing Association (BCPMA) and its volunteers, including 25 Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) and BCPMA members, donated more than 500 Half Your Plate shopping bags filled with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Fresh Direct Produce contributed its time to assemble and deliver the bags to frontline workers in Vancouver.
The CPMA says it plans to replicate this initial pilot program in the coming weeks and months in various areas across Canada.
