Rabba Fine Foods has coordinated a special grocery delivery to support local families during this year’s back-to-school season.

Partnering with brands like Danone, Minute Maid, Honest Kids and Kellogg’s, Rabba delivered hundreds of yogurt drinks, juice boxes and Kellogg’s Cereal Fun Pacs to Food Banks in Mississauga. The food bank will distribute them to families in the community.

“Back-to-school time is not only hectic and stressful for families, but can also be riddled with expenses,” says Rima Rabba, head of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. “Starting the new school year by helping to feed local kids is a great way to give them a head start. We are grateful to our devoted partners for their ongoing support of this initiative. We could not do it without them.”

Rabba has supported Food Banks Mississauga for more than 15 years, most recently through its Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. The grassroots initiative focuses on increasing access to food, health and emergency services. The program also supports arts and events that enhance local communities.

The number of children relying on Food Banks Mississauga has increased by nearly 10 per cent compared to last year, and children now account for more than one-third of food bank users, a statement reads.

“We are honoured to partner with Rabba in supporting this special annual donation,” says Wayne Barker, director of sales – impulse at Danone Canada. “Providing snacks to families and children who might need a boost before or during school reflects our commitment to the communities we serve with partners like Rabba. We appreciate the important work of food banks such as Food Banks Mississauga and applaud Rabba for going this extra mile to help children start the school year with the nutrition they need to thrive.”
