Save-On-Foods is reopening its Fort McMurray, Alta. location on June 10, 2021 after major floods in early 2020.

The store is having a grand reopening after rebuilding for a year and undergoing renovations, including in-store specials and giveaways.

The location will have a meat and seafood department, a bakery and grab and go items.

“We could not be more excited to reopen our downtown store and welcome back our community,” says Cathy Weiss, store manager. “Our friends and neighbours in Fort McMurray have incredible spirit and strength and we are excited to open our doors and serve them once again.”

Weiss was also the store manager in 2016, when the store had to close due to the largest wildfire evacuation in Alberta’s history.

Save-On-Foods will now have three stores in Fort McMurray with this reopening.
