The Grocery Foundation has expanded its Board of Directors with two new members, Ana Dominguez, president and CEO of Lindt & Sprungli and Stacey Kravitz, president of UNFI Canada, and announced that Michael Medline, president and CEO of Empire Company Limited and Sobeys Inc., has taken on a new role with the Board.

Medline, who has been a director for two years, has assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Directors, while Dominguez and Kravitz join as directors.

Shaun McKenna, executive director of The Grocery Foundation, says they join a group of industry leaders “actively contributing to the Foundation’s strategic direction and mission to raise funds benefiting hungry school-aged children. With their support and the support of the public, the Foundation has raised more than $90 million since its inception.”

Medline says he’s seen firsthand the impact the Foundation has had on children across Canada.

The difficult reality is that Canadian children need our support now more than ever. I am honoured to step into the role of Board Chair and look forward to working with this incredible team to help deliver that support to our nation’s children and youth who are most vulnerable.”
