Sobeys opened the doors to its renovated store in North Oshawa in early November.
The Oshawa store offers many of the same features of other renovated or new store locations including an Infarm vertical farm area, digital signage throughout the store and modular, mobile fixtures that can be rearranged easily to give grocers flexibility in store design layout and features, and a new LED lighting system for department signage illuminated by specific lighting to create a different atmosphere and customer experience in each area.
Some interesting elements Grocery Business noted while walking in the store included an enhanced “grab-and-go” area at the store’s entrance, an extensive refrigerated area for beer and chilled wines, and a long aisle for greeting cards.
