The Italian Centre Shop in Sherwood Park, Alta. opened its doors on July 21, months ahead of a planned fall opening. The new store marks the fifth store in the chain and is the largest location to date at more than 22,000 sq ft. The store features a 50-seat café, 70 foot-long deli counter, a 30-seat patio, a pastry and a bakery shop.

A key feature of this location is the Tavola Calda, which features hot and ready-to-serve Italian foods and a gelateria offering house-made gelato. Teresa Spinelli, owner and president of the chain says the location is the first to open that is brand new from top to bottom.
