Walmart Canada gave $120 million of annual cash bonuses to over 75,000 employees, following its strong performance through the pandemic.
The bonus is based on sales performance and goals for each store. The $120 million is 30 per cent more than it was in 2020.
It’s been such an exceptional year,” says Nabeela Ixtabalan, executive vice president of people and corporate affairs of Walmart Canada. “It’s another way that we’re offering an incentive and support for them, considering everything that’s happened this year.”
This follows the news of Walmart Canada’s strong sales results, which saw 229 per cent growth in e-commerce sales.
The incentive payout comes following the news of closing six locations while investing $500 million into other locations.
