Walmart expands made-in-Canada, South Asian-inspired food offerings


Walmart Canada has expanded its international food offerings with the introduction of a new line of South Asian potato chip flavours in conjunction with Frito-Lay Canada and says it has plans to roll out more ethnic food products, including new snack flavours, in the coming months.

Walmart worked with Frito-Lay to develop the made-in-Canada “Flavours from India” snacks, which will be exclusive to Walmart Canada and its stores nation-wide for 30 days.

The company says it has a 42 per cent market share in East and South Asian Foods.

“Our goal is to be the store of choice for all Canadians across all regions and demographics,” says Jonathan Rumley, manager of corporate affairs Walmart Canada.
