Walmart Canada plans to permanently close all its Tire & Lube Express auto service centres in 106 stores by the end of June.
The move is expected to affect approximately 500 employees. Walmart Canada said the company will work to find the employees new roles at the stores and that it will continue to sell automotive products.
In a CTVNews.ca story, Adam Grachnik, director of corporate affairs says the move will allow the retailer to place a bigger focus on its “growth ambitions while delivering our core business of food, consumables, health and wellness, fashion and general merchandise.”
