London Drugs reopens all stores across Western Canada after cybersecurity attack

London Drugs has reopened all of its stores across Western Canada following a cybersecurity attack that shutdown store operations on April 28.

Clint Mahlman, president and COO of London Drugs has apologized to the public in a letter for “the inconvenience and any concerns” that may have arisen from the cybersecurity incident that closed down 79 London Drugs stores.

“As soon as we became aware of suspicious activity in our environment, we immediately engaged third party cybersecurity specialists from across North America to assist with containment, mitigation, and to conduct a forensic investigation.”

He confirmed there is currently “no evidence” that customer databases were compromised, but said the investigation is still ongoing, adding that “should we discover any evidence that customer information was impacted, we will inform our customers and privacy commissioners in accordance with privacy laws.”
