Ten years after the launch of the Provigo Le Marché concept, Provigo has launched a completely new grocery concept at its flagship store in Kirkland, Que. focused on high-quality ready-to-eat meals that have been created and developed by Provigo in partnership with local suppliers. To launch this new concept, the store counted on the support of more than 140 new Québec suppliers as it added 2,500 new local products to its current local assortment across all departments.
The extensive renovations that took place in the Kirkland store were aimed at optimizing the space in order to offer consumers a smaller, friendlier and more inviting store that can be conveniently shopped. With an investment of more than $5.6 million, the opening of this new concept creates more than 110 jobs in the Kirkland area, bringing the total number of employees to 300, as well as introducing more than 2,500 new local products. The company plans to deploy this concept in other stores; the next on the list is Provigo Ile-Des-Soeurs.
